More Medical Reasons to be Nude in the Sunlight
In April 2009's Esquire Magazine, Dr. Mehmet Oz answered this question:
"How come cold weather makes your joints stiffer and in warm weather they feel looser? Isn't it always 98.6 degrees inside your body?"
His answer: "In the winter, you have less vitamin D because you're getting less sun, which means some of your immune functions become weaker. So you end up with a less resiliant body across the board, and that tends to result in stiffness. Try taking a vitamin d3 supplements during the winter in addition to your daily multivitamin".
You can read the rest of Dr. Oz's column here.
Of course, it's much easier to just shed your clothes and go soak up sunshine for a few minutes a day (or as little as 15 minutes a week). Even with sunscreen on you, you will get enough sunshine to overcome your vitamin D needs.
In every winter month in Colorado, there are always one or two days when it is warm enough to enjoy the sunshine without clothing. In January 2009, I was able to layout two days at Mountain Air Ranch, and one day in February 2009. In March, it looks like it will be 10 or more days. Even last October 2008, I was able to layout at Orvis Hot Springs for a couple of days.
